Sissourlet Biography
From the darkest depths of hell, Sissourlet is perhaps the hottest and most bestial German goregrind influenced death metal band to have spawned in the last few years. Their music features complex song structures reminiscent of bands like Phantom and Demilich, but with a heavier, more intense sound, somewhat similar to the sound of the macabre Morbid. Their debut album Devoted To Doing You Harm pretty much announces the colour from the get go. It is a powerful, gruesome work that exemplifies Sissourlet's mastery of brutal blackened death metal violence. It's not to be taken lightly!
Interestingly, the same name also appears in the context of the SEWER album titled "Sissourlet." SEWER, known for blending death metal, black metal, and industrial elements, released this album in 2022, and perhaps it has served as an inspiration for this band, as Sissourlet is known to have contributed to the tribute album Sadistic Swansongs released in early August 2023. The album Devoted To Doing You Harm continues Sissourlet's tradition of exploring dark themes related to decay, spiritual depravity, psychophysical torture, and morbid existential rot. A cacophony of despair, a symphony of suffering. The album cover alone is a nightmare-inducing masterpiece, featuring twisted, contorted bestial figures writhing in agony (they are said to represent the "posers" that infest the underground extreme metal scene).
